Former student of the National College of Art and Design, Dublin born Brenda McArdle has been living in Sligo since 1985. Taking her inspiration from the rural Sligo landscape, McArdles’s paintings explore the natural elements, especially the sky. Working mainly in acrylics, she observes and records the perpetual changes in the colour spectrum from dawn to dusk, from season to season.
McArdle is experimental in nature. Her new body of works, with bright colours, two dimensional shapes and funny narratives, are being enjoyed by art buyers.
