Brid Lyons was educated in Limerick School of Art and Design in Pottery and followed by working for some of Ireland’s leading potters. She is the owner of her own studio and shop Brid Lyons Ceramics in Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny. Her work is one-off unique and original sculptural pieces, hand thrown and finished in her own studio. The 1920’s Lady received wide acclaim, attracting international attention. Brid continuously introduces new ranges widely sought after and held in public and private collections. Inspired by connections between nature and art, her pieces have an almost cartoon like quality, each an unique character, and life of their own. Brid was nominated and winner of Craft Business of the Year awarded by Kilkenny Chamber Business Awards in 2016.
