John McCarthy is a Dublin based artist originally from County Limerick. Graduated from Limerick College of Art and Design, and further educated in Oslo on an art scholarship and later studied print making in NCAD. He is influenced by his immediate environment whether that be his home country or many countries he has traveled to. His work displays bright colours and captures an emotive response to subject matter and narrative. During lockdown, John spent time walking the Royal Canal Way whish inspired his attest works. . These works are mostly a mixture of acrylic and oil paint.
