Gemma Billington’s work is inspired by the sea and mountainscapes of her home town in Glencar, county Kerry, not far from the remote inspirational landscape of the Skellig Islands. Billington hasspent time at the remote artist retreat Cill Rialaig. She passes days watching the ocean, changing – nothing standing still – light transforming the colour of the waves, rocks. In essence, the feeling of witnessing the passage through the transformation and movement of life itself. The rise and Fall. Billington was born in England and has exhibited widely.
