Damien, originally from Belfast, embarked on a unique life journey, torn between his love for art and a father's insistence on science during his 'A-Levels.' His academic path led him to graduate in Medicine from The University of Dublin, Trinity College in 1975. Damien's pursuit of understanding the human condition motivated his successful career in Disability Medicine with a focus on Psychology, a passion that would later find its expression in his art.
Damien chose early retirement in 2009 to embrace his true calling as an artist. He honed his skills through night classes at The National College of Art and Design, earning a Certificate in Visual Arts Practice. Damien's preferred medium is oils, and his art predominantly features the serene beauty of land and seascapes, inspired by the captivating colours and moods of nature. Today, his artwork stands as a testament to his profound artistic journey, rich in human understanding and love for the natural world.
